Sometimes the files are hard to get hold of, the foreign servers slow and overloaded so I've mirrored the files here.

It's not going to be the same as buying a 40D or even a 400D but will breathe new life into your 300D

These hacked firmware files are only for Canon EOS 300D / Kiss / Digital Rebel digital SLRs - they will not work on a Canon 350D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 400D, 450D camera or any other Canon camera

Since creating this page I no longer own an EOS 300D (a great digital camera that prompted me to upgrade to a Canon EOS-1D MkII).

When I did have my 300D I used the hacks without any problems and know of plenty of other people who have too.  It's at your own risk though, don't try upgrading the firmware unless your camera is powered from the mains or a freshly charged camera battery.

You can always go back to your camera's original Canon EOS firmware, the latest version of which is available at the Canon website.
